The Australian National Maritime Museum preserves and shares Australia’s maritime heritage, migration stories, and connections to oceans and waterways. Located in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, the Museum cares for significant collections, vessels, and stories that reflect Australia’s identity and relationship with the sea.
As the Museum’s donor and inscription management needs grew, it required a clearer and more reliable way to manage donor records, inscription details, approvals, reporting, and operational workflows.
Skyline Systems helped modernise these processes by replacing fragmented systems with a central Salesforce solution, giving staff greater visibility and confidence across the donor journey.
Skyline Systems worked closely with the Museum to ensure the Salesforce platform integrated seamlessly into our environment. Their technical expertise, responsiveness, and understanding of our operational needs were exceptional throughout the project.

The Challenge
The Australian National Maritime Museum was managing inscription and donor information across disconnected systems, including a custom online content management system, spreadsheets, emails, and manual coordination.
As the National Monument to Migration expanded, this fragmented approach made it harder for teams to maintain accurate records, stay aligned, and manage donor information efficiently. Staff were spending significant time cross-checking information manually, which increased the risk of duplication, errors, and delays.
- Reduced Manual Work
- Improved Data Accuracy
- Single Source of Truth
- Real-Time Reporting
- Stronger Team Coordination
- Reliable Systems Foundation
- Greater Operational Visibility
The Solution and Outcome
Skyline Systems designed and implemented a Salesforce-based donor management solution that brought key information and workflows into one central platform.
Using Salesforce CRM, Nonprofit Success Pack, reports and dashboards, and a custom Visual Inscription Panel Management solution, Skyline helped streamline the donor journey from registration and inscription confirmation through to event coordination and reporting.
The solution also supported historical data cleansing and migration, creating a single trusted source of information for staff across departments.
With Salesforce at the centre of its operations, the Museum now manages donor and inscription information with greater accuracy, visibility, and efficiency. Reports that previously took hours to compile can now be generated in minutes, helping staff work with clearer information and greater confidence.
